Events for the Day and New News for 11/29 Race

We will start off the race day with our Bicycle Douglas County Newbies race. If you have never done a cross race, or would like to build your confidence in racing cross, come join the Newbie Race. Word on the street is that Dan Way will be back as well as newcomers Cassie Meyers and Jeff Baker.

Kiddie Kross is back - by popular demand - our premier race will be back at noon. Watch the little hupsters as they get it on like donkey kong out on the Eleanor Needy designed course. Eleanor brings her past course design experience, as well as Sid the Snake barrier to challenge the Nys in training group.

Prizengeld - Prizes for developmental categories will be done by a random drawing. Our efforts are to move those that should be moved up, into the categories that will have prizes for the top finishers. Getting the upgrade and BCR points is enough of a reward for those in development.

Open age group categories will score some Joint Juice as well as some other merchandise. The Mens and Womens Open categories cash payout will depend on the amount of people that sign up. The more people you beat, the more cash you win.

Medals will be awarded for all kids racing in the junior races. Remember, this is the last weekend for juniors as states for juniors has already occured.

David Millar Huffy Toss

Throughout the day, we will have a Huffy Toss, with the winner taking home a coveted prize to be determined. We are looking for distance in the air on this one. Here is David Millar demonstrating his technique

We will also have a bunny hop competition - again looking fo the highest jump - two divisions - open and cross bike.

Kiddie Kross - Racing at noon

What is Kiddie Kross - It is the pint sized version of cross - we will have a small course set up for the little ones. There is no charge to register, and to sign up, all you need to do is sign a waiver and get a number. Be ready to hup, hup hup over Sid the Snake and other obstacles. Training wheels, while they may be necessary for some of the youger competitors, are not required. We are looking at 8 and under Hupsters to compete! Here is a version of Kiddie Kross:

Chatfield State Park - Here we Come!!!

Both dates have now been secured for Chatfield State Park - located about 1 mile south of C-470 and Wadsworth. The course features some tight trail, some crazy sections and some all out fast sections, so it should be a lot of fun.

If you pre-register, you will be able to go right to the registration and pick up you number - we should have everything printed out for you and all you need to do is sign the waiver. It will be very expedited and you will save some cash by doing so.

The Park entrance fee is included for racers in the entry fee registration, as well as for the volunteers of the race.

As you enter the park from the main entrance, you will proceed south for about 2 miles and park in the Kingfisher parking lot. If needed, our overflow lot will be either the Platte River lot or the Fox Run lot. There should be enough room in the Kingfisher lot.

For the juniors, this is the big time show - the State Championships - they will be starting later in the day and we are excited to host them.

Castle Rock Location ???

On the Cross will not happen at Cherry Hills Church as it did in the past, as they are making the cross course into athletic fields. Bummer, what a waste of perfectly good wasteland er... a cross course.

So a search for On the Cross has started - weighing heavily on a Castle Rock location as shown in the pictures, that is supposed to have a pump track developed sometime in the near future.

Here is a peek at the possible course -
